The TTG Convention and Great American Guitar Build Off is the preeminent annual event that gathers guitar builders, manufacturers, suppliers, enthusiasts & afficionados for fun and fellow ship. There are a series of activities including seminars, demonstrations, guitar building competitions, exhibits and mixers. This event is THE platform for guitar building culture, networking among builders, manufacturers and enthusiasts, alike.
THE COMPETITIONS
THE GREAT AMERICAN GUITAR BUILD OFF
The rules for the 2026 Great American Guitar Build Off are simple. You can build anything you want, as long as it is identifiable as a Telecaster. Builders from all over the world have already signed up. Every dollar from the entry fees will go to the winner in the form of A FAT STACK OF CASH.
PINEWOOD DERBY BUILD OFF
Limited to 25 entries. TTG has built the Pinewood Derby Tele Style kits, and you get to finish them off in your own signature style. $50.00 from every kit purchase goes to the winner and is automatically entered into the Great American
Guitar Build Off.
COLONIES VS. EMPIRE BUILD OFF
Matt & Chris from TTG square off against Paul Richards from Milehouse Studios in the UK. We don’t know what the winner gets but y’all should have a great time judging and watching the build videos.
SEMINARS AND DEMONSTRATIONS
The convention includes educational seminars covering building, painting and set-up techniques. Plus, live interactive Q&A Events where industry experts answer your questions.
The Telecaster body building marathon is a exciting demo where we build as many guitar bodies as humanly possible on old school tools at the TTG Woodshop. Buy your body blanks in advance and we will transform it into a ready to sand and finish guitar body right before your eyes.
